Kimolos Celebrations, Relegious Fairs

The most important religious celebrations of the island are on the 21st of November (The Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary), when we have the celebration of the  patron saint of the island and the metropolitan church and of the people of Kimolos leaving all over the world, on the 15th of August (Dormition of the Virgin) and on the 5th of October (the day of Osia Methodia).
Especially regarding the 15th of August, preparations start with daily, evening “supplications” at the church of Agios Spiridon at Kampos, from the 1st of August. On the eve and the day of the celebration a very special ritual is followed which you shouldn’t miss if you are on the island.


Whenever you find yourselves in Kimolos, according to our Church calendar, you will have the opportunity to celebrate together with the residents of the island at the churches and the chapels of the island.
